James E. “Jim” Braskett, born April 2, 1961, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. Jim was a lifelong farmer and a rural route mail carrier for 36 years for Grove City. He was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where he was an usher and member of the church dart ball team for many years. Jim is preceded in death by his loving parents, Shelby Emerson and Mildred Braskett. He has two sisters, Lorna McMillin and Nancy Brandt as well as many nieces and nephews. Jim was blessed with many good friends and neighbors, especially Sue Olney who came regularly from Lancaster to visit and assist with Jim’s care. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 1-4 pm at Schoedinger Grove City. His funeral will take place on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 1pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church 3220 Columbus St. Grove City, OH 43123 with Pastor Patti Morlock, officiating. Interment will take place at Grove City Cemetery East. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Jim’s memory to St. John’s Lutheran Church or to Grove City Cemetery.
