

James Fierstos, born on June 5, 1939, passed away on April 30, 2023. He is survived by his loving spouse, Polly Fierstos, and their daughters Heather (Larry) Antram, Laura (Jamie) Hayes, Kristen (Jeff) Cain, and Mary (Tim) Senff. His 10 grandchildren were his pride and joy. James was predeceased by his parents, Ethel and Lawrence Fierstos, and his brothers, Dick, Bill, and Larry Fierstos. He is also survived by his sister, June Schiederer, sister Barbara Lose, and brother John Fierstos.
After graduating from Jackson High School in Massillon, OH in 1957, James went on to earn a B.A. in Political Science from Kent State University in 1976. He began his career serving in the United States Army Intelligence in 1961 and later joined Nationwide Insurance in 1965. James married Polly Fierstos in 1963, and they brought four wonderful children into the world between 1968 and 1974.
James retired from Nationwide Insurance in 1995 and moved to Somerset, KY in 1998. In 2016, he and Polly relocated to Grove City, OH. Throughout his life, James enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, playing golf, fishing, watching UK basketball, and following the Cleveland Indians.
Described as warm, loving, funny, and generous, James left an indelible impression on those who knew him. He valued love for life, living big, and loving Jesus with all of one's heart. He cherished his family and considered them to be his greatest accomplishments. His faith and marriage stand as his enduring legacy, a testament to a life well-lived.
