

James A. "Jim" Kime, age 89, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was a man of many passions and talents. Among his joys in life, he found immense fulfillment in building and crafting, using his hands to create and innovate. Whether it was constructing something new or refurbishing the old, Jim had a knack for turning ideas into reality. His love for craftsmanship extended to his farm, where he dedicated himself to transforming it into a haven of beauty and functionality. With determination and care, he cleared the land, shaping it into a place of serenity and abundance.
Beyond his endeavors on the farm, Jim found solace in nature, particularly in the tranquility of fishing. He took pleasure in spending time by his stocked pond, casting lines, and immersing himself in the peaceful rhythm of the water. These moments of quiet reflection brought him joy and contentment, allowing him to connect with the natural world he cherished.
Jim's passion for building, farming, and fishing not only enriched his own life but also left a lasting impact on those around him. His dedication, creativity, and love for the land will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Cates Ruddy; daughter, Christy Kiebler; grandson, Jack See; father, Harold Kime; mother, Alvena Pestel; step-father, James L. Karlovec; step-brother, James Eugene "Tank" Karlovec; and step-sister, Elaine Kress. He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Shelia Kime; daughter, Sharon See; son, Jack Kime; grandchildren, Kelly (Kameron) Weakley, Kyle Konnerth; great-grandchildren, Bravery See, Karma See, Brielle See, Scarlett See, Zazuri Weakley; sister, Janet Smith; furry black lab companions, Oprah and Barack; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Jim graduated from Bexley High School and THE Ohio State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a member of the Air Force ROTC and Kappa Sigma Fraternity, where he served as Steward and publicity director. He proudly served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force.
Throughout his career, Jim made significant contributions in engineering. He worked as an Application Engineer for Vickers Incorporated, obtaining his State of Ohio Professional Engineer certificate in 1965. He also worked for HPM Corporation, the Ohio Department of Transportation Test Lab as Engineer in Charge of Research and Development, and as a Sales Engineer for Pabco Fluid Products. In 1967, Jim and his family started Hydron in their garage, and in 1987, he founded Pengwyn, where he served as owner, President, and Chief Engineer.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 4-8 pm at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY 4242 Hoover Rd. with his funeral service to follow on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 10 am. Interment will be at Obetz Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Lustgarten Foundation
