

Jay was born on September 3, 1962, in Zanesville, Ohio, to the late Alfred Laverne Klass and Evelyn Klass (Winland) who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by his beloved pets, Callie, Diva, Max, Lucy, and Snowball.
Jay leaves behind many to mourn who will cherish his memory, including his devoted partner of 36 years, David Wollam; his sister, Karen (Rick) Addis of Zanesville; his sister, Paula Klass (Jeri Lynn Watts) of Buckeye Lake; his niece, Jade (Derek) Hague and their children, Collin, Tripp and Tytan, of Zanesville; and his nephew, Cale (Jessica) Addis and their children, Bristol and Blake, of Zanesville.
Jay dedicated 40 years to a career in retail, working at Marshall Field’s, Nordstrom, Louis Vuitton, and most recently, Gucci. He was admired for his professionalism, creativity, and commitment to excellence.
Outside of work, Jay enjoyed cooking, baking, and expressing his artistic talents through anything visual and creative. He had a natural talent for technology and a love for discovering the latest gadgets. Above all, Jay loved his family. He enjoyed spending quality time with family at Buckeye Lake. He also looked forward to his annual trip to Las Vegas.
His warmth, sense of humor, and ability to bring joy to those around him will be deeply missed.
Family and friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, at Schoedinger Norris Grove City, 4242 Hoover Road, Grove City, Ohio 43123. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, at the same location, with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 410 W. Spruce Avenue, Byesville, Ohio 43723.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jay’s honor to the Mount Carmel Hospice Foundation, 3100 Easton Square Place, Suite 300, Columbus, Ohio 43219.
Jay’s kindness, creativity, loyalty, and love for family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
