John Callicoat

John Callicoat, age 65 of Galloway, passed away Monday, July 31, 2023. John was born in Columbus to the late Charles Callicoat and Bonnadine (née Hoffhines) Callicoat. John worked at Elgee Electric and later at Loeb electric where he retired after 26 years of service. He enjoyed collecting hand blown chickens and roosters, going to flea markets, Lowe’s and Home Depot. John also collected 45 RPM records from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. He had a happy go lucky personality but always kept himself busy and active. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, -great-grandfather, son and brother. John is survived by his wife of 47 years Teresa; daughters Miriam ( Bennie) Mendez and Nicole (Ron) Buzzard; He was “Papaw’ to his grandchildren Keri and Kaila Buzzard, Savannah Bartley, Sierra and Hunter Buzzard, Ricky Waterman, Dee Dee, Mia, Joseph, and Alex Mendez and great-grandchildren Brantley, Bentley, Scarlett, Braxton, Adrianna, and Aleas. John is also survived by his mother Bonnadine Callicoat; brothers Ralph Hancock and Mark Callicoat; sister Lisa (Paul) Anderson; and many other family members. John’s family will receive friends 4-7 PM Friday, August 11, 2023 at Schoedinger Grove City 4242 Hoover Rd (HOOVER RD at KINGSTON AVE). In lieu of flowers please send cash to Teresa so she can get her daughter to Grove City for the visitation time.
