

John “Jack” LeRoy Eing, age 84, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026. He was born July 26, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio to the late George and Anna (Karl) Eing. He was a 1960 graduate of Aquinas High School and served in the U.S. Army, active duty, from 1964-1966 and then in the reserves from 1966-1970. Jack retired from South-Western City Schools as a Head Custodian. Jack valued hard work to support his family and lead by example. He truly enjoyed nothing more than seeing his children succeed and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren thriving. (Especially with a Wendy’s single without cheese or a slice of lemon meringue pie!) A longtime resident of Grove City, he lived in the Park Ridge neighborhood and enjoyed walking through Gantz Park nearly every day after he retired. In his later years, Jack resided at StoryPoint Grove City where he treasured the connections and friendships he made. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Margaret (Sauner) Eing; sister, Virginia Nagel; and brothers, Robert and Karl Eing. Jack is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Dempsey) Carruthers; son, Andrew (Nancy) Eing; grandchildren, Olivia, Evan, Cory, Cody, and Shelby (Matthew); great-grandchildren, Harper, Laini, Tatum, Michael, and Abigail; brother, David (Issie) Eing; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Visitation will be 11am-1pm Thursday, August 6, 2026 at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY, 4242 Hoover Rd, Grove City where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Fr. Leo Connolly officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at Mowrystown Cemetery, Whiteoak, Ohio.
