

Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Claire Beglen, his son, Joseph Beglen, and his daughter, Karen Beglen, brothers, William “Bill” Beglen, Walter Beglen, half-brothers, John and William Wellington, and sister, Marion Polma. He is survived by his loving daughter Kathleen Beglen Kitchen, his son, Richard (Teri) Beglen, grandchildren, Danielle (Brandon) Colvin, Brittney Beglen, Larry (Courtney) Kitchen Jr., Thomas Kitchen, great grandson, Hunter Colvin, and sister, Catherine "Kay" Bennett.
Joseph was a graduate of Ripley Central High School in New York, class of 1950. He proudly served his country as a Korean War veteran in the Air Force, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. During his service from 1952 until 1956, he specialized in Tactical Aircraft Maintenance.
After his military service, Joseph pursued higher education and received his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Franklin University in 1974. He was a diligent student and applied his engineering expertise in various roles throughout his career.
Joseph was known for his passion for gardening, particularly growing vegetables and herbs. He was the proud operator of JB Farms, where he cultivated and sold flowers. He cherished countryside drives, especially those to New York, where he enjoyed staying by the lake. Joseph found solace spending time his weekend getaway home in Vinton County and offered unwavering support to his wife behind the scenes as she dedicated herself to activities at Darby Valley Garden Club.
A compassionate soul, Joseph regularly donated his surplus vegetables to the Food Pantry for distribution. He also found joy in researching genealogy and delving into his family's history and crest.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grove City Food Pantry 2710 Columbus St. Grove City, OH 43123, a cause dear to Joseph's heart.
Joseph will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, his memory forever cherished. Inurnment with Military Honors will be held at a later date.
