Born on March 2, 1941, in Columbus, Ohio, Joyce was the daughter of the late Sara and John Grant. She was a graduate of Columbus West High School.
She met the love of her life, David Cook. The two shared 65 wonderful years of marriage.
Joyce was devoted to her family. She was a homemaker, caring for her family and she worked alongside David in operating the family grocery store. She enjoyed cooking, baking, ceramics, and especially attending her grandchildren's sporting events, dance recitals, and other activities. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with those she loved.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Grant, and her son, Danny Cook.
She is survived by her loving husband, David Cook Sr.; her sister, Donna Sullivan; her children, Kathy Dodley, David (Tina) Cook, and Jayson (Amy) Cook; her grandchildren, Natashia and Blake Dodley, McKenzie, Arius, Kayla, and Ian Cook, Colton Duncan, Talulah and Penelope Cook; three great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The family invites those attending Joyce's services to wear colorful attire in honor of her love for color and joyful spirit.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Norris Grove City, 4242 Hoover Road, Grove City, Ohio 43123. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 West Broad Street, Galloway, Ohio 43119.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Dementia Society of America.
