Kathryn Branson

Born on July 3, 1950, in Paintsville, Kentucky, Kathryn was the daughter of the late Bill and Neva Barker. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Patricia Barker Lyons and Sonnie Mulkey.

Kathy lived a life centered on faith, family, and service to others. She dedicated her life to education, serving students and schools in a variety of leadership roles throughout her distinguished career. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Kentucky University, a Master of Arts degree from Bowling Green State University, and an Educational Specialist degree from the University of Dayton. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Grove City.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, John Branson; her daughter, Amy Renee Branson (Jim Corcoran); her son, William E. Branson (Amy Branson); five grandchildren, Benjamin Yung, Joseph Yung, Harold Yung, Grant Branson, and Ava Branson; and one great-granddaughter, Alice May Yung.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Norris Funeral Home, 4242 Hoover Road, Grove City, Ohio 43123. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by interment at Concord Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Grove City, 3301 Orders Road, Grove City, Ohio 43123.

Kathy will be remembered for her dedication to education, her faith, and her love for her family.
