Linda Marie Srnec

Linda was born on November 22, 1952, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph Vicarel and Martha Zaza Vicarel.

Linda grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1970. She married the love of her life, Nicholas Srnec, on October 13th, 1973 at St. Micheal’s Catholic Church, in Canfield, Ohio, beginning a marriage filled with love, devotion and faith that spanned 51 years.

Linda was employed at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital – Medical Center as a phlebotomist from 1972 to 1990, where her compassion and dedication left a lasting impression on her colleagues and patients alike. In 1991, driven by her desire to contribute to her community, Linda ran for the office of Clerk-Treasurer for the Village of Poland, Ohio. She was elected and then re-elected 5 times and proudly served the taxpayers for 21 years, where her meticulous work ethic, dedication and commitment to the residents of Poland earned her the respect and admiration of her community.

Linda’s greatest joy was her family. She was the devoted mother of Sarah Srnec Pierre (Josh) and Matthew Srnec (Amanda) and the proud grandmother of six beloved grandchildren: Avery Pierre, Preston Pierre, Camden Pierre, Rush Srnec, Bode Srnec, and Jaxx Srnec. She cherished every moment with her grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her love and wisdom. Linda also shared a close and special bond with her sister, Diane Vicarel, who was her lifelong confidante and friend.

Linda will be remembered for her warmth, strength and unwavering commitment to her family and community. She lived a life of purpose, guided by her faith and a deep desire to help others. Her legacy of love, compassion, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Linda’s funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 21 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 3752 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123, with calling hours beginning at 10:00am.
