Luanna Sue “Cricket” (Rasor) Dennis, age 75, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away on September 27, 2026. Luanna will be remembered as a beloved and cherished presence—gentle in spirit, devoted in the ways that mattered most, and unfailingly kind-hearted to those fortunate enough to know her.
Luanna was married for 52 years to Gerald “Jerry” Dennis, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Phyllis (Lucas) Rasor; her son, Gerald “Jay” Dennis; her sister, Becky (James) McCallister; her sister-in-law, Roberta Rasor; her brothers-in-law, Butch Angus; Abby Zabonik; and her furry companion, Buddy.
Luanna is survived by her daughters, Gina (Rob) Heiser and Mindy (Steve) Simon; her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Dennis; and her grandchildren, who knew her lovingly as “Gram”: Kayla (Ryan) Brenzel, Jacob (Kat) Dennis, and Brady Simon. She also leaves her great-grandchildren, Kian, Lylah Dennis, Finn, Sawyer, and Jack Brenzel. She is further survived by her siblings, Tommy Rasor, Betty Angus, and Helen Zabonik; along with nieces, nephews, bonus children, Bubba McCallister, Shannon Risinger, and Paul Thomas Ward; her best friend, Ronda Kautz; and many neighborhood friends.
In the everyday rhythms of home and family, Cricket’s gentle devotion shone brightly. She enjoyed cleaning and took quiet pride in the care she gave to her home—so much so that she even taught Buddy to wipe his paws when coming into the house. She loved reading, watching old western movies, and sharing simple pleasures: playing horseshoes, and playing Yahtzee and rummy with her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed taking her grandchildren to Kohl’s—her only place to shop—and watching golf with Jerry. Above all, taking care of her grandchildren was her favorite job, and she loved having her family close.
A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lighthouse Community Christian Church, 11659 State Route 104, Ashville, OH 43103.
