Mark Alan Harden, beloved husband of Lynn; devoted father of Tara (Eric) Helser, Lauren (Brandon) Bright, and Katie (Mike) Baumann; loving grandfather of Iris (Trent), Lucas, Emma, Steffan, Finnegan, Arlo, Lydia, Jillian, Nolan, Dylan, and Ryder; great-grandfather of Daisy and Ronan; brother of Marla; uncle of Connor, Isaac, and Derrick; son-in-law of Mary Jane; brothers-in-law of Michael, Daniel, and Krista (Chris); nephew of Larry and Barb; cousin and uncle to many, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026 at the age of 71.
He was born in Lancaster, Ohio on March 22, 1955 to the late R.R. “Pete” and Shirley (Smith) Harden. Mark was a 1973 graduate of Lancaster High School and a proud 1977 graduate of Ohio University. He was a glass man and had a 42 year career with Anchor Hocking. He held many titles over the years, all of which included the word “salesman”. He always felt that being in sales was so much more than getting the sale. He was a Master at making sure people were taken care of and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus.
In retirement, Mark was a member of the Safety Team at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School. He loved being around the kids and did his best to help ensure that they had a safe learning environment. He became “Boompa” to many of the children.
Mark volunteered with several organizations. He was most passionate about serving people with food insecurity. He volunteered with Bottoms Up Diaper Bank because he felt that, at minimum, every child should have access to clean diapers.
