A devoted Christian, Mel lived his faith through a life of service to others. His relationship with Jesus was at the center of who he was, and he was deeply involved in his faith throughout his life. He served as a pastor and found great meaning in encouraging others and sharing the hope he found through Christ.
Throughout his career, Mel served others in many different roles, including as a registered nurse, pastor, and substance use therapist. In every role, his greatest desire was to help people. He openly shared his own story of recovery, using his experiences to reach people who were struggling and to remind them that recovery, hope, and a new beginning were possible.
Mel had a heart for people and believed that no one should feel alone in their struggles. His willingness to share his story and walk alongside others touched countless lives. His legacy will live on not only through his family, but also through the many people he helped, encouraged, and inspired along the way.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lori Timberlake; his daughter, Ashley Timberlake (Steven Fathbruckner); his three sisters, Ardith Friend, Candy Talbot, and Vickie LaMotte; his brother-in-law, Mark Vincent (Cristal); and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Timberlake and Lois Durant Timberlake.
Above all, Mel will be remembered for his faith, being a wonderful, loving husband and father, his willingness to serve others, and his courage to share his story so that others might find hope. His life was a testament to the power of faith, recovery, and loving others through every season of life. He is now at peace in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom he loved. Well done thy good and faith servant.
