Born on July 5, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, Michael brought warmth and flavor to every chapter of his life. A gifted chef and proud restaurant owner, he became a beloved fixture in his community—especially to those who knew where to find the best pizza and homemade soups. His culinary talents were matched only by his generous spirit and deep love for family.
He is survived by his beloved wife Lou; daughters Deedee (Fred), Ange (Gary), and Tammy; Papa as he was known to his grandchildren Michael, Lauren, Ali, Adam (Bree), Anthony, Tonch, Curtis, and Chelsea; and great-grandchildren who continue to grow in number and brought great joy to him. He also leaves behind his brothers Pete (Carol), Dick (Joan), Chuck, Tommy (Frankie); sister-in-law Pat Krueger; brother-in-law Don Schmitz; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends whom he treated as family.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Pauline Krueger; brother Eddie; sisters Bert (Don), Mary, and Cathy (John); and special son-in-law Ray Rennard.
His presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and inspiration to those who carry forward his legacy of kindness, humor, and hearty meals shared around the table.
