

Nancy Ellen (Cloys) Swisher, 75, of Columbus, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, after a short battle with Brain Cancer. She was born June 2, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio. She spent most of her childhood and adolescent years in Springfield, OH, moving back to Columbus during her teenage years, graduating from Whitehall Yearling High School in 1968. She worked for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) and then Lockheed Martin, retiring in 2017 from Lockheed Martin.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Martha Cloys.
She is survived by her daughter Jody (Jeni) Swisher of Grove City, son Andrew Swisher of Columbus, grandson Dylan Swisher of Grove City, sisters Diana (Bob) Kirkham of Springfield and Becky Dillon of Lancaster PA, nieces, and extended family members and many special friends.
She enjoyed playing euchre, putting puzzles together, dinners out with friends and family, and going on family vacations to the Outer Banks. When her kids were younger, she volunteered in the school library, she enjoyed bowling and participated in multiple bowling leagues throughout the years. She’s also enjoyed the company of many animals throughout the years including her cat Sammy and dogs Cymmie, Winnie, and most recently Zoey. She will also be missed dearly by her grand-dog Jax.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2025 at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd., Grove City, OH 43123. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
