Born on May 9, 1932, on a farm near St. Peter, Minnesota, Pat grew up with the values of hard work, grace, and unbreakable spirit that defined her extraordinary life.
In high school she met her sweetheart, Richard “Dick” Edgar Clark. They married in 1953 and set off on a grand adventure together. While Dick pursued his college degree in Minneapolis, Pat worked in a modeling and sales position to help support the young couple. Soon afterward, Dick was commissioned in the United States Air Force, beginning a 26-year journey that took them from coast to coast and border to border: California, Maryland, Florida, Minnesota, Ohio, New Mexico, and Texas. Dick rose to the rank of Colonel, but everyone knew Pat was the General—elegant, assertive, endlessly charming, and the social force behind his distinguished career. After retirement, Pat and Dick settled in beautiful Destin, Florida, where they traveled the world, made lifelong friends, and savored the life they had built together.
In their later years they moved to Ohio to be closer to family, enjoying the love and support that surrounded them until the very end. Their 72-year marriage was a shining example of devotion, partnership, and joy that inspired everyone fortunate enough to witness it. Pat was the beloved matriarch of a growing and tightly knit family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Col. Richard “Dick” Clark, USAF (Ret.). She was also preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Walton Pell; her sisters, Bonnie and Jane; and her son-in-law, Carl Hamman.
She is survived by her three children, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren: Robin Jane McMaster (Doug) of Tucson, Arizona, whose children are Ryan McMaster (Lexi) and their daughter Liliana, and Bree Richardson (Matt) with their children Riley, Chase, and Paxton; Nancy Clark Hamman (Carl, deceased) of Grove City, Ohio, whose children are Robert “Robbie” Hamman (Lindsey) and their children Rhett and Quinn, and Scott Hamman (Lauren) and their children Harper and Blakely; and William “Bill” Wyvil Clark (Ellen) of Chillicothe, Ohio, whose children are Matt Clark, Andy Clark, and Peter Clark (Christine) and their daughter Chloe.
Pat will be remembered for her impeccable style, her warm and welcoming spirit, and the effortless way she made everyone around her feel loved. She was, simply put, one of a kind.
A funeral service will be held at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 4242 Hoover Street, Grove City, Ohio, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. with a visitation following from 4:30–6:30 p.m. Please consider wearing something colorful to honor Pat’s dazzling personality and style.
