Born October 22, 1956 to Henderson and Joyce Dingess in Columbus, Ohio. Randy, known to some as Phil, graduated high school at Franklin Heights in 1974. His high school wrestling career was one of the most significant experiences in his life — building character, providing outlet, and giving him a place to thrive and shine. He worked with his hands doing a variety of jobs until he landed in the trucking industry in the 90s and quickly became an owner operator. He was currently employed by Hale International, where he worked for many years.
Randy was truly a remarkable man. His love language was acts of service — working so hard to provide and support his family up until his passing. He considered his family his greatest accomplishment in life and devoted his time, his life, his heart to making their lives easier and more fulfilled. He had extremely high spatial intelligence — fixing, building, making anything him and his family could ever want or need. He built his family’s home — adding, maintaining, and filling it with immeasurable amounts of love and memories. Outside of his devotion to his family, he loved cars, wrestling and being dragged along on the many adventures that his wife wrapped him into including traveling, fostering and rescuing cats, and most recently Pelotonia. He was incredibly compassionate towards animals. Truly an animal whisperer — usually seen with one or more cats on his lap. That compassion and kindness extended to people — never knowing a stranger and would help anyone, whether help was asked for or not. Randy was the epitome of strong man with a gentle soul.
