Phyllis grew up in Fostoria, Ohio, and later moved to Columbus, Ohio with her late parents, Paul and Mary (House) Winters. She was a proud member of the first graduating class of Franklin Heights High School in 1959. She shared nearly 67 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Adams, Lt. Colonel (ret.).
A devoted wife and loving mother, she built a warm and welcoming home for her family. She stood faithfully beside Bob throughout his distinguished military career, supporting him during his 33 years of service in the Army. Her children were always prepared for their next adventure, thanks to her care, organization, and boundless love.
She was a talented baker and cake decorator, known for her delicious cookies, candies, and beautifully crafted cakes. She found joy and relaxation in ceramics and took great pride in caring for her household. An excellent cook and enthusiastic gardener, she especially loved growing tomatoes. With her natural gift for organization and hospitality, she was a gracious entertainer who made everyone feel welcome.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Rhea Jean Adams and Rhonda Lynn Adams; and grandson, Kenneth Beggrow.
Phyllis is survived by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Adams, Lt. Colonel (ret.); daughters, Joy Jane (John) Mohr and Patricia May Adams; grandchildren, Damian (Caitlyn) Adams, Amanda (Scott) Altrichter, Chad Pollock, and Michael Beggrow; and many other relatives and friends.
