Rob Wilson, 69, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Robert and Barbara Jean (Servis) Wilson Jr., and his sister, Linda Elizabeth (Kenneth) Wilson Parker.
Rob is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Theresa Marie Wilson; his children, Jason Robert (Courtney Walls) Wilson, Natalie Anne (Jon) Harvey, and Joshua Daniel (Sarah) Wilson; his cherished granddaughters, Emma Grace Wilson, Olivia Anne Wilson, and Adelyn Quinn Wilson; and his brother, David Michael (Mary) Wilson. He also leaves behind his dear friend of over 40 years, Rick (Mary) Buena, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends he met along the way.
Rob began his career as a DJ at 106.3 WPNM in Ottawa, Ohio, before working in his father’s construction company. He eventually discovered a passion for photography, which grew into a successful and storied career. As the founder of Dunamis Concepts, Rob traveled extensively across the country, lending his creative eye to a variety of clients. One of the highlights of his professional life was photographing golf outings for PGA Tour and Senior PGA Tour legend, Chi Chi Rodriguez. What was supposed to be a single assignment evolved into nearly twenty years of travel and friendship; a bond sparked by Chi Chi’s personal request to work exclusively with Rob. It was an extraordinary chapter that left a lasting impact not only on Rob, but also on his family and his closest friends.
A man of immense energy, Rob dedicated much of his life to mentorship through sport. He spent many years coaching … from the diamonds of Little League and High School baseball to leading basketball programs as both a middle school head coach and an assistant varsity coach and ultimately a stint as head varsity coach at WHCA. In his later years, he became a passionate pickleball ambassador, working with local municipalities to develop courts and programs that introduced others to the sport he loved. While he earned over 30 medals alongside various partners and became a respected figure in the Central-Ohio pickleball community, the game held a deeper significance for him than mere competition.
For Rob, sports were his language of connection. He spent decades playing alongside his sons, whether on the basketball court or turning double plays on the softball diamond. In later years, that spirit of play found a new rhythm in pickleball; a sport he and The Lovely Theresa finally shared together, and one that became a cornerstone of family time during visits with Natalie and Jon in Louisville (even if it occasionally required Natalie’s athleticism to bail her mother out of a bad shot).
Yet, while Rob found fulfillment in coaching and community, his life was most deeply defined by an unwavering dedication to those he loved. This was evident in his leadership in sports, but it was most profoundly felt in his role as a father. He was an ever-present force in the lives of his children, traveling to every game and every far-off town across Ohio to ensure he never missed a fraction of a second. To Rob, being present wasn't just something he did; it was the greatest gift he gave. His wife and children always knew they were his absolute priority; yet, as they stepped into the roles of parents themselves, that knowledge deepened into a profound realization. They discovered that what they had felt as children—the simple comfort of his presence—was actually a magnificent, lifelong act of devotion.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Grove City, with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Mark Arthur. Interment will follow at Obetz Cemetery.
