Robert Clark Point was born in Columbus on September 12th 1958 to Robert L. Point and Dorothy Jane Point (Feyh). He passed away at home on July 25th 2024. He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years Nancy, two daughters Lindsey (Ryan) Gillogly and Rhiannen (Michael) Boehm, 4 grandchildren who lit up his life Camden Gillogly, Canaan, Aeson and Cali Boehm, sister and friend Marsha (Mike Ball) Browning, sister in-law Barb (Mike) Filbin, brother in-law Larry (Sharon) Burfield, nieces Staci (Dwayne) Hall, Amy Smith, Robin (Geoff) Davies, nephews Todd (Missy) Jones, Brian (Andrea) Burfield, Ben (Nicole) Burfield, Steven Burfield, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, best friends Mike (Debbie) Spohn, Rusty McQuirt, a host of other special friends and his dog Jack.
Bob was preceded in death by his father Robert and mother Dorothy, brother-in-law Mike Browning, brother-in-law David Burfield and cousin Gary Pearce.
Bobs love of engines and mechanics was exhibited by a long spanned career with Penske Truck Leasing, where he retired as District Service Manager. Not one to sit still for long, he joined his best friend Rusty as a driver and mechanic for Rusty’s towing. After retiring from Rusty’s, he could be found in his recliner watching old westerns, Pawn Stars or Counting Cars, working in his garden (or advising Nancy on HOW to do it), or enjoying trips to Vango drive thru for his Winston Lights (in a soft pack) all the while telling Nancy to “watch the curbs”! Bob could be heard frequently bragging about his grandchildren or his son in-laws Ryan and Michael, who became the boys he probably always wanted. They shared a special relationship and Bob enjoyed sitting in the quiet of the garage or living room talking with them. He waited until the ripe age of 64 to get a cell phone, but picked it up quick to send a dirty joke. Any photos he received of his kids or grandbabies was instantly saved. There will be a viewing only, followed by a Kesslers toast. Food, drinks and stories will be shared after and more information will be provided at his visitation. Bob was a simple man and would request that you “come as you are” whether that be jeans and a t-shirt, work uniform or a suit and tie. Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd., Grove City. In lieu of flowers, honor Bob by picking up a 6 pack of Miller Light or mix up a Kesslers and Diet coke and share a good joke or story with a friend. The family would like to thank Zangmeister Cancer Center, Mount Carmel Hospice, special providers Dr. Mikhail, Angie and Sam for all their assistance, and long time family Doctor Mark Ricaurte for his compassionate care.
