

Robert G. “Bob” Snyder, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at his residence with his family by his side. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Snyder and Laverne (Tingle) Wynn, brother, Steven Snyder, an infant brother. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Amanda Ruth Snyder, daughter, Heather Snyder, granddaughter Mikaela Mulesky. Bob served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was on a Swift boat that patrolled the rivers in Vietnam. Bob graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He went to work for Cummins Engine and worked with them for 19 years before going to work for Copeland, which is part of Emerson Electric for 24 years. Bob enjoyed SCUBA diving, hunting, wood carving, and taught woodcarving at Wood Crafters, competitive shooting, chaperoning on the band bus for Heather, helping coach Heather’s softball team, and buying, selling and rebuilding muscle cars. Bob was a member of Deer Hunters in Sidney, the Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post 532, and VFW Post 4239. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Columbus, IN.
