Ronald Craig Strader

Ronald Craig Strader, age 54, passed away on August 21, 2026. Born on January 13, 1972, Craig was a man whose steady patience, honest heart, and loyal devotion shaped the lives of those who knew him. He will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection for the kindness he showed so naturally, the love he gave so faithfully, and the quiet humor that could lighten even an ordinary day.

Craig was a 1990 graduate of Trimble County High School in Bedford, Kentucky, and joined the U.S. Navy Reserves in 1989. He served proudly as an Aviation Boatswain’s Mate Handler during Desert Storm aboard the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk aircraft carrier. In recognition of that service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon—honors that reflect a hard-working spirit and a steadfast sense of duty.

Above all, Craig cherished the time he spent with family and friends, especially his granddaughters. His presence was marked by a devoted care—patient, loving, and kind-hearted—offered not in grand displays, but in the dependable ways that matter most and endure the longest.

Craig loved the thrill of riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, embracing the open road with the same determination and good-natured spirit that defined his life. He was a member of the Broke Ass Baggers, Loser Racing, Moose Lodge #11, and Freemason Lodge #623.

He also valued community and service, giving his time in ways that brought people together. Craig enjoyed volunteering at the Race For The Cure in the “Thunder Tunnel,” going on poker runs for various charities, and putting together an annual community Easter Egg Hunt—efforts that reflected both his generous devotion and the warmth he brought to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald E. Strader and sister, Shelby Strader.

Craig is survived by his daughter, Tylar (Justin Hochradel) Strader; granddaughters, Brianna and Charlotte Hochradel; mother, Connie Strader; sister, Tamara Strader; nephew, Alex Metcalf; niece, Savannah Clark; uncle, Donald (Billie) Strader; numerous cousins; extended family, Mary Brown, Kyndrick Spitler, Robin Thompson, Mike Kibbey, and his BAB family; and beloved fur babies, Mookie, Gary, and Issac.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2026 at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY, 4242 Hoover Rd., Grove City. Visitation will follow the service and be held from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A graveside committal with Navy military honors will be held 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West 3rd Street, Dayton, Ohio 45428.
