

Ruth E. Moore, 103, passed away Friday, April 10, 2026. She was born October 21, 1922 in Harrisburg, Ohio to the late Winfield and Cora (Smith) Armentrout. Ruth was a talented cook and baker who served as a head cook for South-Western City Schools for more than 20 years. She enjoyed being outdoors, whether mowing the lawn, tending to her garden, or bird watching. Above all, Ruth deeply valued her family and treasured the time they spent together. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Herbert McFarland and Edward “Roe” Moore; brothers, Starling Armentrout, Raymond Armentrout, Gene Armentrout, and Franklin Peterson; and daughter, Anna Upperman. Ruth is survived by her children, Dale (Sharon) McFarland, Kay (Jerry) Harris, Judy (Gary) Mulvihill, Tom (Monica) Moore, and Carol Moore; grandchildren, Sheri (Kurt) Polzin, Lori (Scott) O’Neal, Jennifer (Tony) Sheets, Judy Upperman, Sandi Upperman, Sharon Upperman, Gregg (Karen) Upperman, Terry Upperman, Jeff (Monica) Mulvihill, Doug (Kathryn) Mulvihill, Megan LePore, Mike (Jennifer Lewis) Moore, and Matt Moore; great-grandchildren, Allie, Reagan, Cami, Avery, Mason, and Carter; nieces, Judy Barton and Sharon Reynolds; nephews, Rick McFarland and Jay Armentrout; special friend, Donna Estep; and many other relatives and friends.
