

Shirley Foster, 72, of Grove City, Ohio passed away peacefully on October 11, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was a devoted mother and grandmother. She spent more than 35 years caring for the elderly as a restorative nurse at Franklin Woods Healthcare Center. Shirley was married to her high school sweetheart, Larry Foster, in 1970. They raised five children: Tina, Sherry, Larry, Tabitha, and Jack. Shirley loved the holidays and enjoyed cooking huge family meals. Keeping family traditions alive was one of her most important priorities and she made sure her children promised to keep those family traditions going. Shirley was known for her strength, stubbornness, humor, and wit. Shirley was a widow for 13 years before she got her groove back and found love again with David Little of Greenup, KY. Shirley is survived by her children: Tina Karshner (Byron Brown), Sherry (Rob) Evanichko, Larry Foster, Tabitha Foster (Tommy Franklin), and Jacky Foster; grandchildren: Cory Karshner, Tyler Karshner, Thomas Franklin, Tika Franklin, and Austin Corbin; sisters: Charlotte Madden, Karen Spaulding, Sonny (Kathy) Madden, Bonnie (James) Johnson, and Julie (Jim) Dennis; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband (Larry), second love (David Little), parents: Estel Madden and Dorothy Kathleen Madden; brothers: Ervin Robinson, and Gene Madden; sisters: Geri Heairld, and Yvonne Spaulding. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2023 at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd., (HOOVER RD AT KINGSTON AVE), Grove City. A procession will follow visitation to Shirley’s 1:00 p.m. graveside service with interment at Obetz Cemetery. Rev. John Meade, Jr. officiating.
