November 11, 1959 – July 22, 2026
Tim Kingrey passed away peacefully at his home in Hilliard, Ohio, surrounded by his devoted wife, Sheryl; his son, Lance; and his daughter, Emily.
Born on November 11, 1959, Tim spent his high school years in Jackson, Ohio, where he met the love of his life, Sheryl (Massay) Kingrey. Together, they settled in Columbus, Ohio to raise their family.
A proud veteran, Tim served his country in the United States Air Force, stationed in both North Dakota and Montana. Following his military service, he dedicated his career to being a hard-working steelworker. Tim took great pride in providing for his family, and was known for his easygoing, lighthearted spirit.
Outside of work, Tim embraced life’s simple, meaningful pleasures. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting in Jackson and fishing at Lake Erie. A devoted and passionate fan of Ohio sports, he spent countless hours cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Guardians.
Tim’s favorite activities were those spent with family. As a father, he was fiercely supportive, rarely missing a moment to support his children. His proudest achievements were his children and the lives they built, but in recent years, his ultimate joy came from stepping into his most cherished role: being a grandfather.
Tim’s warmth and gentle presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Sheryl Kingrey; his children, Lance (Kaitlin) Kingrey and Emily (Jesse) Francisco; his precious granddaughters, Sophie Kingrey (3), Audrey Francisco (3), and a third granddaughter on the way (expected October 2026); his mother, Wilda Kingrey; and his siblings, Troy (Melissa) Kingrey and Tresa (Jim) Campbell. As the son of a preacher, Tim's faith remained an important part of his life, and we are comforted in knowing that he is now in Heaven, reunited with his father, Nathan Kingrey; and those who went before him.
A funeral service celebrating Tim’s life will be held on Friday, July 31, at Schoedinger Norris Funeral Home in Grove City, Ohio. Calling hours will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following at 12:00 p.m. A luncheon reception will be held following the service. At 2:00 p.m., family and friends are invited to proceed to Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Hilliard, Ohio, where he will be laid to rest.
To honor Tim’s life and legacy, all are welcome to make a donation to a charity of their choosing.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the dedicated care teams at The Bing Cancer Center and Compassus Hospice for their exceptional care, compassion, and unwavering support throughout Tim's battle with cancer. Their kindness and care meant more to our family than words can express.
