Walter Carl Roth, age 96, passed away on Friday September 8, 2023. He was born on August 7, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio to the late John Henry and Mary (Krebs) Roth. Walter is survived by his five daughters; Susan Koehler, Nancy Belford, Marcia (Charlie) Beavers, Reenie (Jimmy) Pilkington and Carla Inglish; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Anna Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
Walter served in the Army during the Korean War. After the military, he worked as a carpenter along with his sons, Danny and Tommy. Walter’s favorite things included family gatherings, playing cards and home cooked meals. Putting his passions and talents to work, Walter and his sons and sons-in-law built the Grove City Town Center Gazebo in 1984. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Marilyn; daughter, Janice Roth; sons, Garry, Tommy, and Danny Roth; granddaughters Kelsey Inglish and Laura Belford; brothers, Robert and John; and sisters, Mary and Lillie.
Walter’s family will receive friends from 2-4 pm on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Road (Hoover Road at Kingston Avenue) where the memorial service will immediately follow at 4pm with Pastor Seth Jersild officiating.
