Anita G Long

Anita Grace Lunsford Long, 65, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016, after battling cancer for four years. She was born February 21, 1951, in New Brockton, Alabama. She was a teacher for over thirty years at New Brockton Elementary, Wagarville Elementary, and Clarke Prep School. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a caring teacher, and a published writer. She was a member of Bashan Baptist Church. She was survived by her husband Marcus Long, her daughters Epsie Long, Tindol Long, and Beth Long of Grove Hill, Alabama; her brothers Walter Lunsford (New Brockton, AL), Lomax Lunsford (Monroeville, AL), and James Lunsford (New Brockton, AL); and her mother-in-law Geneva Long. She was preceded in death by her parents Shelby and Grace Lunsford and her father-in-law Robert Long. The service will be held at Grove Hill Baptist Church on Monday, April 4, 2016, with visitation at 1 p.m. and the funeral at 3:30 p.m., the graveside service following.
