Ernest Elroy Edwards Jr.

Ernest was born March 18, 1932 in Arco, Georgia to Ernest Elroy Edwards, Sr. and Margaret Welch Edwards. He was a resident of Bridge City for 36 years and member of St. Paul's Methodist Church of Bridge City. He was a retired car salesman from Coleman-Bernard with 35 years of service and also worked for Energy Country for 5 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannette Edwards of Bridge City; daughters, Katherine Newsom of Nederland, and Brenda Swan of Bridge City; son, Ernest Elroy Edwards, III and wife, Brenda Ann of Bridge City; sister, Diana Perkins of Austin; four grandchildren, Brooke Martin and husband Jake, Cody Edwards, Cass Newsom and wife Kylee, and Alex Newsom; two great-grandchildren, Mason Martin and Natalie Martin.

A graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves with Reverend Brad Morgan officiating.
