Earnest Landry Pete (Butch), 64 of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Christus St Mary Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas. Earnest was born July 24, 1948 to Gertrude Pete and the late Landry Pete. He was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and a 1966 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. Earnest received an honorable discharge from the United States Marines.
Earnest was preceded in death by his father and nephews Joseph D. Carter. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his mother, Gertrude Pete, sisters Mary Cole, Charlotte Pete, Paulette Borders (Ronald ) and Kimberly Pete all of Port Arthur; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and a special friend Diane McGarther.
Funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012 at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 948 E. 5th Street, Port Arthur, TX with Rev. Michael Angelle of Houston, TX officiating with a viewing from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
