
Gregory Craig Mitchell, 58 of Port Arthur passed Tuesday October 4, 2011 at his home. He was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur. He graduated from Lincoln High School class of 1970. He attended PV University and also served in United States Navy. After receiving an honorable discharge, he returned home. He was later employed and retired from the City of Port Arthur. Craig also volunteered as a cook for the Hospitality Center.
The celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Monday October 10, 2011 at St. James Catholic Church viewing from 9-11 with service immediately following; Father J.C. Coon officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park in Groves under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
He is survived by his devoted wife Norma Mitchell, his mother, Laura Mitchell, one daughter Erica T. Mitchell, four sons, Bryant Gloston, Sr, Darrell Gloston, Sr, and Shawn Gloston, all of Houston, TX, and Eric Harris of Las Vegas, NV. One Brother Jonathan (Corliss) Mitchell, Sr of Hickson TN, Five sisters: Myrna (Marshall) Joubert of New Castle, DE, Clarissa (Eddie) Cambell of Beaumont,TX, Claudette (Richard)Bowden of Port Arthur, TX, Alice Mitchell of Port Arthur, TX, and Althea (Patrick) Christian of Beaumont, TX.
Grandchildren: Kelsey, Darrell Jr., Brittany, Jalen, TyNeshia, Taylor, Isaiah, Jazlynn, Jaela, Kaden, and Bryant Jr. Mother in law, Thelma Sigur, 9 brothers in law, and 8 sisters in law and a host of nephews, nieces, family and special friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Deacon Joseph Mitchell and sister Lydia Renee Fontenot.
