

JAMES LARRY VILTZ, 69, of Port Arthur passed Saturday March 11, 2017. He was the son of Andres and Dorothy Viltz. James was a 1965 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, US Navy Veteran, Lamar Port Arthur College, Retiree of Gulf Oil and Valero Refinery. He attended Strong Towers Church and was a man of GOD, loving the word of GOD. James was an ordained Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, a part of the Laymen Brotherhood and an usher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, grandmother and two brothers.
He leaves to cherish his memories, the love of his life of 46 years “My Bride” Martha Washington Viltz, three sons, Graylynn-Houston, Javan (Lianmi)-Nederland, Chrae “Booby”- Port Arthur; one daughter (his heart) Sharla (Adrian) of Port Arthur; Five grandchildren: Chree, Brooke, Kyndall, Journey, Alan; three sisters: Delores (John) Landry, Carol (Curtis) Trice, Letha (Larry) Lavalais; one brother Lawrence (Doris) Viltz, Sr.; in-laws, Willie (Shirley) Washington Sr.-Port Arthur, Annie Joseph-Houston, Gloria Washington-Port Arthur, Martha Viltz – Lafayette; God Children: Lachelle Lavalais, Neko Joseph; special nieces, Erin Washington, Paula Chavis, Linda Williams, Larneka Lavalais, Roxanna Mitchell; special friends, Adrian Smith, Anthony Eaglin, Melvin Delores Allen; and a host of relatives, neighbors and friends.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Eastern Star Baptist Church with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
