John T. Hardy

He was born May 6, 1917 in San Augustine, Texas to Joseph Hardy and Eleanor Tinsley Hardy.

John had lived in Groves for 65 years and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Port Arthur.

He retired from Texaco as a machinist.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

John is survived by his daughter; Sandra Ann Griffin and husband, David of Houston, son; Jerry Boyd Hardy and wife, Jean of Port Arthur, sister; Maurine Lott of Humble, and four grandchildren; Erin Nicholson and husband, John, Kim Griffin, Jason Hardy and wife, Lori, and Jeffrey Hardy.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Magnolia Manor for their care and concern during his stay there.
