Mr Joseph A Stelly

He moved to Port Arthur after serving in the United States Army World War II. He worked for Gulf Oil/Chevron and retired with 32 years of service in 1988.

Adam is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Sydis Banks-Stelly; his parents, Adam and Mary Milton-Stelly; two infant sisters, brothers, John Columbus, Andrew Saul, and Lawrence Anthony Stelly.

He is survived by his son, Gary Adam Stelly and daughter, Dr. Nina Gail Stelly both of Port Arthur, TX; sisters-in-law, Mary and Ida Stelly, Mercedes Washington and Rev. Dr. Bonnie R. Green all of Houston, TX, Delores Banks of California; special cousin, Betty Lastrap of Port Arthur, TX; godchildren, George Randle (Bridgette) of Vacaville, CA, Edna Reynolds (Rev. Dr. Airon) of Beaumont, TX, Timothy Jones of Houston, TX and Charleson Alexander of Port Arthur, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Rock Island Missionary Baptist Church, 549 West 11th Street, Port Arthur, TX with a viewing from 9 a.m. until service time. Pastor Dr. John R. Adolph will be officiating. Military burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
