Ms Joyce D Bob

Joyce Marie Broussard Bob was born October 16, 1935 in Port Arthur, TX, to Ignatius Joseph Broussard, Sr. and Selena Frelot Broussard. She departed this life Friday, October 10, 2014 at Christus St. Mary’s Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Bob, Sr., her parents Ignatius Joseph Broussard, Sr. and Selena Frelot Broussard; her brothers Richard Broussard, Douglas Broussard, sister Josephine Bobb and nephews, Craig Bobb and Jeffery Broussard.

Joyce was a devoted Catholic and served faithfully her whole life at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Arthur, TX. While her children were in school she volunteered and worked with the P.T.A. through the Port Arthur School District. She worked for years on staff at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. In 1995, she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and displayed the epitome of strength and courage. She worked diligently with the Sacred Heart Church’s’ established Breast Cancer Group “Winners for Life”. She recently received the “Winnie Frelow Service Award”. When she retired she continued to be of service to others in whatever capacity she could.

Joyce will live on to be cherished in the memories of her children as their personal ‘Hero’. They are Sandra Bob Brown, Houston, TX; Rev. Irvin Bob, Jr. (Angela), Enid, OK; Madgalyn Broussard Browning, Los Angeles, CA; Jacquelyn Broussard Foreman (Glenn) Port Arthur, TX; Olivia Bob, Port Arthur, TX; Sidney Bob, Beaumont, TX; Mark Bob (Tammy), Plano, TX; Katherine Bob Sells, Spring, TX; Bernadette Bob, Fresno, TX.

She also leaves to cherish her memory 11 grandchildren Regina Brown, Douglas Brown (Cole), Joshua Bob, Joi Foreman, Brandon Browning, Lindsey Jacko (Fabian), Jennifer Foreman, Brittany Bob, Matthew Sells, Kristen Bob, and Alec Bob.

Five great-grandchildren Chris Brown, Shane Foreman, Shederick Lyons, Shanice Lyons and Reagan Jacko.

As well as her brothers Joe Broussard (Arthurine), Perris, CA; Willie Broussard, Sr. (Dorothy) Port Arthur, TX; Paul Broussard (Betty) Grand Prairie, TX; David Broussard (Vicki) Rosharon, TX; sisters Stella Vorise, Inglewood, CA; and Pauline Terry, Port Arthur, TX. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and acquaintances.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2014 at Sacred Heart-St. Mary Catholic Church with a viewing from 9 a.m. until service time. The rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
