

She was born to R.L. and Juanita Tassin on Oct 22, 1921 in Port Arthur.
Madalon attended school in Port Arthur from elementary to graduation from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1938. She married Lester H. Bourg on Dec. 12, 1941 at a military camp in Brownswood at the beginning of World War II. Madalon was a strong and independent woman who raised 4 sons and while Lester was in the Army, she got her solo pilots license. They lived for 10 years of their marriage in California and moved back to Port Arthur where she retired from Texas U.S. Chemical/Ameripol-Synpol. She was active in the state Republican Conventions. Madalon loved arts and crafts and spending time doing yard work. In her retirement years, she loved to travel with her sister Nita Martin. Their travels took them to Europe, Israel and road trips throughout the US visiting family and friends.
The most important thing in Madalon’s life was her faith and love of Christ. She was a proud Christian lady promoting Christ throughout her community and family. She was active in her church, Bethal Temple and volunteering in the 700 Club. Madalon will be greatly missed and remembered for her frugal lifestyle but for being abundantly generous person when someone was in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester H. Bourg; son, Paul and grandson, Jonathan.
Madalon is survived by her sons, David Bourg (Susan), Mike Bourg (Jeanne’) and Kenneth Bourg; daughter in law, Cheryl Bourg; grandchildren, Chris, Drew, Angela, Claudine, Kevin, Talitha, Michelle, Jesse and Emily. She will be missed and loved by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
