

Wilbert L. Brocks, Sr., 97, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at his residence. He was born on December 5, 1917 in Boyce, Louisiana to the late Gillard and Louvenia Smith Brocks.
He was employed by Mac Roofing Company of Port Arthur, TX. He was a World War II Veteran, where he served from 1941-1946 with an Honorable Discharge. He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Good Conduct medal; just to name a few. As well as receiving a letter of “Going Above and Beyond the Call of Duty” from President Truman.
Wilbert is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Cezar Brocks, son Wilford Brocks, Sr., grandson, Wilford Brocks, Jr., step father, Andrew Glynn, Sr., five bothers and four sisters.
He is survived by his brother, Andrew Glynn, Jr.; five sons, Wilbert Brocks, Jr., John (Marie) Brocks, Sr., Jerry Brocks, David (The late Linda) Brocks and Collier (Sherry) Brocks; Three daughters, Mary (The late Leroy, Jr.) Martin, Delica (Leonard) Hillman and Estella Marie Brocks; Seventeen grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church where Rev. Kavin L. Jones, Sr. is Pastor in Beaumont, TX on Saturday, January 17, 2015 12:00 Noon with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. William T. Glynn, officiating.
Burial with full Military Honors will follow at Greenlawn Memorial park in Groves, TX, under the direction of Hannah Funeral Home, Inc.
