Anu is pre-deceased by two sisters, Dolly and Aloka, his parents Pran Krishna and Bina Mishra of Senera and his parents-in-law, Haragabinda and Renuka Bhhatacharya of Simlon, West Bengal.
Anu was born in his beloved homeland Senera, Purulia Province, West Bengal in 1936. He came to Canada on an International Doctoral Student Visa and landed in Edmonton, Alberta in the middle of winter in 1962. His wife joined him two years later and the two shared a life filled with love, adventure and family.. They settled in Guelph, Ontario, where they lived with their family for fifty years. Anu was a brilliant and award-winning research fellow and chemist who was committed to reading, study and science for all of his life.
Our family is forever grateful for the over ten years of care and support Anu received from Dr. Wallace, Dr. Shaeffer, LINH nurses, PSWs, and especially, in his last days, the palliative EMS pilot program team in Guelph. We are grateful for our friendships with the neighbours on Kendrick Avenue and Indian communities in Guelph and Toronto.
The family is receiving friends on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 3-5 at Gilbert & MacIntyre, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, ON and at our home all week. A private cremation service for the family will take place on Monday, December 12, 2022. As Anu was an avid reader, we would appreciate donations to the Guelph Public Library in lieu of flowers.
