

MAHONY, Catherine Joan (nee Beliski) March 20, 1937 - June 25, 2014 At Hospice Wellington, after a courageous battle with cancer, Cathy passed away with her family by her side. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Timothy (Tim), mother of Paul (Marlene), grandmother to Jackie and Eddie, great granddaughter Charity and dear sister to Josephine (Jo) Rider (Jim) of Ariss. Also survived by sister-in-law Sheila Hoshooley of Guelph and Marg Meyer (Ralph) of Goderich, brother-in-law of Dan Mahony (Joan) of Tillsonburg and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Margaret Beliski and brother Jack and brothers-in-law James (Mary Pat), Bill (Rose) and Pat (Lenore)Mahony and sister-in-law Ann Mahony. Cathy was a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing and practiced nursing in many capacities. She had a beautiful voice and sang with the Church of Our Lady Choir for many years. She also sang barbershop harmony and was a charter member of The Over Tones and Chord Spinners Chapters of Harmony, Inc. Cathy spent her life giving to others. She was actively involved with St Vincent de Paul Society both local and provincial. Cathy will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. The family are eternally grateful to the staff at Hospice Wellington for the compassionate care given to Cathy and also to Bob Piitz for his support. Family and friends will be received at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel,1099 Gordon St., Guelph, where visitation will take place on Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Family Vigil will be held in our chapel on Sunday at 8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma St., Guelph, on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 10:30 am. Interment at Marymount Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice Wellington, Church of Our Lady Building Fund or The Society of St. Vincent de Paul would be appreciated by her family.
