
BLAKE, Charles J. - Legion member, Veteran of the Second World War, Merchant Marines. Died as a result of a stroke at Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus, on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Charles J. Blake, age 89 years, was the beloved husband and best friend for 67 years of Vera (Baker) Blake of Guelph. He was the loving father of Charles and his wife Margot of Victoria, B.C. and of Garrie of Guelph. Charles was the proud grandfather of Elizabeth of Nelson, B.C., Cheryl of Victoria, B.C., Kevin of Guelph and Darrell and his wife Katy of Guelph and great-grandfather of Gergery, Zachery, Rebecca and Malik. Predeceased by his brothers, Cecil, Ted and Fred. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Private cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Charles' life to be held at a later date.
