Earnest Ernie Blackie

BLACKIE, Earnest (Ernie) Jacob— Passed away, peacefully, at the Guelph General Hospital, Guelph, on Thursday, September 11, 2014. Ernie Blackie, in his 84th year, was the beloved husband, for sixty-three years, of Betty Blackie. He was the dear father of Lynn (John Grieve), Teresa McEvoy (Jon Sweete), Marian Cathro, Dora Amaral (Tim Whitelaw) and Cindy Ellig (Greg). Ernie is survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-granchildren and by two siblings Sarah King and Joseph Blackie. He was predeceased by his daughter Cathy Denholme (2006) and by his granddaughter Marjory Grieve (1994). Entombment of Ashes will take place at Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery, on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at St. Joseph's Church Hall, Guelph Street. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
