Edda Cazzola

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Surrounded by her loving family at Hospice Wellington, Edda, in her 82nd year, joined her soul mate the late Mario (2011). Loving mother of Rosemary Langel (Joe), Rob (Marisa), and Linda DePieri (Luciano). Wonderful and proud Nona to Bryan (Cynthia), Geoffrey (Alycia), Jessica, Michael, Joshua, Sabrina, and Lucas. She will be fondly remembered by her dear cousins Lorenzo Rebbelato and family; Larry Bernacci and his family; by her in-laws Olivo (Iole), Tarcisio (Carol), Carlo (Luigina), Girolamo (Ida), Teresina, and Luisa (Eugenio). Edda immigrated to Canada in 1956 arriving in Halifax Harbour where the love of her life greeted her. From there they travelled by train to Guelph where they were married and raised three children; instilling in them their strong family values. Edda (Nona) loved having her family over celebrating with dinner on Sundays. She loved to cook and feed the family and friends which was no wonder she worked at the University of Guelph food services for over 20 years. Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 3-5 & 7-9 pm. Mass will be celebrated at St. John’s Church, 45 Victoria Rd. N., Guelph on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 11 am with entombment at Marymount Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated by the family.
