On July 22, 2000, Ted married Maribel. In his words, “The two people that changed my life are Jesus and Maribel”. Through life’s victories and storms, Ted and Maribel worked together as a winning team.
Ted loved sports and was passionate about hockey! He loved watching his cousin play in his younger years and became a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs; quietly favouring the Boston Bruins for his old-time favourite Bobby Orr. As a father, Ted loved to watch his son play and coach, “Let’s go boys!”.

Ted loved to laugh, and make others laugh, always telling a joke with a joyful smile on his face. He enjoyed weekend drives, visiting small towns, and visiting provinces during anniversaries. He enjoyed being outdoors and had a green thumb for his Trilliums, Poppies and Sunflowers in his garden. Ted enjoyed a good burger at restaurants, and spaghetti for a home cooked meal. Ted loved life and would go on to live each day to the fullest and lived every day well. “I will smile everyday until the Lord takes me home”; and that is what Ted did before going to rest.
Teds life Passage:
“I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.” - Psalms 40:1-3
Ted's presence and joyful spirit will be missed dearly.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17th, 2024, at 12 p.m. at Gilbert Macintyre & Son Dublin Chapel in Guelph, Ontario.
