Giovachino Gobbi

GOBBI, Giovachino Giovanni— It is with great sorrow that his family announces his passing at the Guelph General Hospital on January 17, 2012. Giovachino was born on May 21, 1925 in Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1950. Giovachino was the beloved husband of Roma (Beghetto) for 56 years. He is predeceased by his parents in Italy, Giuseppe and Romilda, an infant brother, Tarcisio, and a grandson, Matthew. Giovachino was the loving father of Mary Lou of Guelph, Gian Carlo (Marie) of Sarnia, Rafaele (Grace) of Georgetown, Lino of Cambridge, Robert (Silvana) of Guelph, Martin of Guelph, Francis (Maria) of Guelph, Paul (Vicki) of Guelph, Rosanna of Guelph, Michael(April) of Guelph, Teresa (Ian) of Moffat and Cathy McCrae (Chris) of Rockwood. Cherished Nonno of Anthony, Stephen, Andrea, Alicia, Christopher, Adrianna, Nicole, David, Alexander, Carissa, Kyle, Kurtis, Rebecca, Lauren, Erika, and Rachel. Giovachino is survived by his brothers and sisters, Tarcisio (Lucia) of Guelph, Lina, Angelo (Giovanna) and Caterina Soligo (Giovanni), all of Italy. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Canada and in Italy. Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., where family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Giovachino will be held on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John’s Church, 45 Victoria Rd. N., Guelph, on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Marymount Cemetery.
