

MESZAROS, Gyula— Age 81, of Guelph, Ontario, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013, peacefully in his sleep, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loved ones. Gyula was born in Baja, Hungary on October 26, 1931. He was married to Elizabeth on October 29, 1955; they were married 57 years. Gyula worked as a machinist for Cooke & Denison for 25 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on small engines, taking them apart and rebuilding them. Gyula also enjoyed fishing and hunting and he was also involved with the Hungarian Club. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, two sons Julius and Joseph, who is married to Shawna, four grandchildren, Jessica (who is a child from a previous marriage to Debbie), Stacie, Nichole and Kristi-Lynn, two great-grandchildren Brylee and Nicolette, and by other family and friends in Canada and Hungary. Gyula is predeceased by his parents Imre and Teresa Meszaros, late of Hungary. Friends are invited to meet with the family at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on February 15, 2013 at 11 a.m., Fr. Les of St. Joseph’s Church officiating.
