Wilcox, Harold - Harold Wilcox of Guelph, Ontario died peacefully at home on March 10, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife Pauline Wilcox (nee Flanagan), his sons Owen, Michael, Peter (and spouse Lindsay) and Stephen and his grandchildren Teasha, Ben, Matthew, Marshall, Austin, Sam, Maxx, Hannah, Patrick, Ethan and Kensington; just enough grandchildren to field a team in his favourite sport of English football. Harold was so proud of his grandchildren and he cherished them every day of his life. Harold was born in Oldham, England on November 8, 1937. His parents were Ernest Jones Wilcox and Annie (nee Booth) Wilcox. Harold obtained his National Higher Certificate in aeronautical engineering and was qualified as a tool and die maker. After graduating, he worked in the aerospace industry in Surrey, England. In 1960, Harold moved to Canada to be with the love of his life, Pauline. They married on August 13, 1960 in Niagara Falls and settled in Brampton, Ontario where Harold worked in the plastics industry. In 1962, Harold and Pauline moved to the Montreal area where they began to raise their sons Owen, Michael, Peter and Stephen. In 1977, Harold and Pauline moved the family back to Brampton, Ontario where all of the boys attended high school and Harold continued his work in the plastics and manufacturing industries until he retired in 2002. After retirement, Harold and Pauline moved to Guelph, chosen because it was approximately equidistant to the homes of his sons and their families. Harold wanted to be as close as possible to those most cherished in his life. In retirement, Harold became an avid gardener, patient bird watcher and reader of great books. Harold was a consummate husband, father and grandfather. He spent his adult life ensuring that his family was taken care of and had the best opportunities that he could provide. He lived life to the fullest and treated everyone he met with respect. Harold, you cultivated a garden to be proud of. You are in Heaven. God Bless You.
