

Born Iris Gertrude Cochrane on October 29, 1919. Passed away peacefully on March 19, 2015 at the Elliot Community in Guelph in her 96th year. Eldest daughter of the late Walter and Gertrude Cochrane of Windsor, Nova Scotia and the wife of the late David Andrews (1981). Mother to Douglas (Kellie) and Thomas of Guelph and Dana (Debbie) of St. Joseph’s Island. Predeceased by an infant daughter, Marion (1947) and a son, David Mark (1976) and brothers Walter, Laurence, and Frederick. Fondly remembered by brother William (Lillian) of St. Croix, Nova Scotia; sister Doris (Douglas) Randle of Meaford; sister-in-law Betty of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, and 4 beloved granddaughters: Emily, Sarah, Rachel, and Laura. Family and friends are invited to Lakeside Downtown Church, 75 Norfolk St., Guelph (formerly Norfolk Street United Church where Iris was involved for many years), for visitation on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 12:30 pm – 1:00 pm followed by a celebration of Iris’s life in the church at 1:00 pm with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph to follow. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Alzheimer Society of Waterloo-Wellington or to Lakeside Church would be appreciated by the family.
