Passed away at home on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Janice Lynne (Checkley) Forestell in her 78th year was the beloved wife of the late Gerry Forestell (2002). She was the loving mother of Laura (Ashkan Faramarzi) and Lisa (Khaled Jabji). Janice was the proud grandmother of Abdullah, Noah and Adam. She was the dear sister of Shirley Prior (Checkley) and John Checkley and daughter to Clarence and Christina Checkley.
Janice loved to travel and had many adventures to the Caribbean, Europe and even Australia. She loved all her dogs over the years, including Niki, Spencer, Abby, Riley and most recently, Tessa. Her pride and joy were her grandsons, who she happily spoiled. After retirement she spent time volunteering with St. Vincent DePaul.
Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St N., Guelph where the family will receive friends on Monday, January 15, 2024, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church 409 Paisley Rd., Guelph on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 10 a.m. Interment in Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
Janice had a special connection to autism, through her grandson.
