November 22, 1971 - May 13, 2021
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Jennifer Cutler at the age of 49 after a valiant battle with eye melanoma.
Jen passed away peacefully at home in Guelph on Thursday, May 13, 2021 with her loving husband by her side. Jen was a special person in so many ways, she had a smile that would light up any room! She lived her life with courage, humility, elegance and grace. Words alone could not describe her kindness and compassion towards others.
Jen completed her degree in nursing and worked with Waterloo Public Health infectious disease program were she especially loved working in the travel clinic and was inspired to do more. She did so by becoming an epidemiologist with the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) where she had the good fortune of working with an amazing group of people all over Canada. Her work led her to some places like Guyana, Vancouver, Halifax, and Nunavut Iqaluit, where she also lived and worked. She devoted time in Africa during the Ebola outbreak with The World Health Organization (WHO), and was involved with SARS, and the current Covid-19 outbreak up until she passed away.
Jen and Rob loved spending time at their cottage along with their pets Rooney and Samson. She loved to golf, cook, travel and get together with family, friends, and her special group of ladies from Waterloo Public Health
She leaves behind her husband Rob Page (Scott, Ryan), her mother Kathy Cutler and her dear brother Jeff, alongside a large devoted extended family. She was predeceased by her grandparents, John and Mary Prigione. In keeping with Jens wishes, under the current restrictions a private family service will be held at Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
We would like to extend a special thank you to UHN, Princess Margaret, in particular Dr. Hatem Krema, Dr. Marcus Butler, and Dr. Gary Roden, as well as her family Doctor, Dr. Janet Nairn.
In lieu of flowers, Jen would like donations made to research for Uveal Melanoma Immunotherapy at Princess Margaret for Dr Marcus Butler. Cards are available at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel or online donations and condolences can be made at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com.
