Jim Hawkins

HAWKINS, James (Jim) - Surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer, Jim passed away at the Guelph General Hospital on Thursday, December 20, 2012 in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Joan for 48 years. Loving father of Bob and his wife Kathy, and David. Cherished grandfather of Cassidy, Kaitlyn, Austin, Ethan, Carson and Madeline. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Edith as well as his siblings Fred, Ruth and Helen. Jim was the Past President of the Guelph Association of the Deaf, he was actively involved and proud to serve the deaf community. Jim was a devoted well driller for the past 47 years and will be sorely missed by the many lives he touched. Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, on Sunday, December 23, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and again on Monday, December 24, 2012 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel immediately following at 1 p.m. Cremation to take place. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and again on Monday, December 24, 2012 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on immediately following at 1 p.m.
