RETFORD, Joan – Passed away peacefully on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Guelph General Hospital, in her 81st year. Joan was the beloved wife of the late Don Retford (2009). Loving mother of Catherine Retford and the late John Retford (1991). Cherished grandma of three granddaughters; Emma, Holly and Leah Eckerich. Dear sister of Sally Anne and Wilson Hayter. Loved aunt of Kendal Allison and Heather Koehli. A special thank you to the 4th and 7th floor staff of Guelph General Hospital. Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Rockwood Chapel, 117 Guelph St., Rockwood, where a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 in the chapel at 1 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Interment to take place at Rockwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the SPCA Hamilton/Burlington in memory of Joan would be appreciated.
